Project 60-Flower of the Day: Forget Me Not 6/60

The birth month flower of September is Forget Me Not.

The name is pretty much self explanatory. 

It symbolized please don't forget my love or forever love.

There's a romantic and sad story behind this flower. A knight from Germany was taking a walk with his lover near the Danube river bank. He saw this beautiful blue flower right next to the river and wanted to pick it for his lover, but he fell into the river. Before the water moved him away, he threw the flower to his lover and said "please don't forget me".

Another birth month flower of August is Dahlia.

It's the national flower of Mexico.

It symbolized dignity and elegance when it's given as a gift.

It also symbolized commitment and bonds that last forever.

Delphinium is equal to boldness.
